Noise or Block Party Permit

outdoor party with live music

If you're hosting an event or outdoor activity where noise will be involved, here's what you need to know about getting a noise permit under City Ordinance 94-04.

Time Restrictions

Outdoor noise, including loudspeakers, bands, or similar, is not allowed between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Indoor Events

No permit is needed for indoor parties, but if the noise gets too loud, the police may ask you to turn it down. Ignoring this could result in a citation.

What to Include

Be specific about the type of noise you’ll have, like a band or DJ. The permit allows for reasonable noise levels. If the noise is deemed excessive, a supervisor may void your permit on-site. Using an outdoor DJ or band in residential areas is not recommended.

How to Apply

To apply for a noise permit, complete the Noise Exemption Permit Application Form. The application process takes five (5) business days. The location of your event will determine which District Commander issues your permit.
